Don't forget it's Half Term on Monday, so there will be no class that evening. We are back on 31 October for 1 week then away for Monday 7 November, sorry! A bit stop/start, but then we have a clear run until 19 December.
Well we had a great turn out for the new Autumn Term and everyone one was eager to start.
After catching up with what has happened over the Summer we discussed our new programme for the term.
Spinners want to spin silk, beginners will be able to try some of these classes and they will be learning the basics, too!
Weavers will be continuing there current projects.
If you didn't start last Monday, don't worry, as usual you can join any time during the term, you will catch up, or just follow behind! Or do your own thing.
We had a lovely evening, sitting in the sunshine spinning and weaving. This was followed by a beautiful shared buffet.
The Autumn Term will start on Monday 19 September, not the 12 as had previously been talk about. I have to keep that date free to take my daughter back up to Aberdeen University.
In the Autumn Term along, with all the other things you want to do, we will be exploring the following:
For the spinners
For the weavers
For the Spring Term, after Christmas, the spinners will be exploring flax and the weavers have yet to decide!
Have a lovely Summer break and see
This week is the penultimate class before the Summer break, another "do our own thing" class with my guidance should you need it.
Don't forget to bring your glass and a few small nibbles next week and some ideas for the new term in Septmeber.
I've been teaching spinning, weaving and dyeing for over 25 years and have always wanted a way for the Monday Class to keep in touch with each other. So I've created this blog to enable them to keep up to date with what we are doing from week to week or month to month, at the class, or if they miss a week or two. I hope it will be useful. Please let me know!
